About the Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup lemon juice

  • 7 1/4 cups water

  • 1 1/4 cups sugar

  • 3 cups ice

Preparation

  1. Because you're using the whole lemon, wash the lemons first. Roll the lemons, cut in half, then squeeze the juice until you get at least 3/4 cup of lemon juice. This should be approximately 4-5 medium lemons.

  2. Slice the squeezed lemons and set aside.

  3. Add the water and sliced lemons to a large pot and bring to a slight boil over medium heat (about 8 minutes).

  4. Add in the sugar and stir until dissolved.

  5. Using a strainer, pour the sugar water into a pitcher, making sure to catch any seeds and pulp.

  6. Add in the fresh lemon juice, stir. Add ice and let chill 2-4 hours in the fridge. Serve and enjoy!

    NOTES

    • Wash lemons thoroughly.

    • Adjust sugar to taste. Reduce sugar for a more tart lemonade.

    • Store in the refrigerator fro best freshness.
